I Too, Am Like You Poem

I am just like you
I am the immigrant that came here in seek of a better life
They treat me differently
Others even discriminate me
But I stay firm
and stand strong
with my head held high
In a few years,
I'll be a citizen
and prove those who treated
me bad, wrong
Nobody will say to me
"Get out of here"
anymore.
They'll soon see how
we are equal
I, too, am America

What does it mean to be American? What is "The American Life?"

What it means to be American is having the right to do things. It also is that can have a better life in the United States of America. The American life to most people living here is being wealthy. When people that live or were born in poor countries talk about "the American life," they refer it to somewhere where people are wealthy and don't have to worry about things. They also think of it as somewhere where they know that they will have opportunities to rise whether it is for wealth, fame, or just anything people can dream of. The American life can also be what people think will be best for them and where there aren't any worries in life, only what they wish for. Being American is honoring our country and being proud to be an American knowing that here, you receive great opportunities in life that most likely, other people around the world will not ever receive in their life. To be American is also voting for elected presidents or campaigns to be engaged with other Americans no matter what their beliefs might be. To be American is also respecting others who live here in the United States of America. Being an American is having the freedom to have hope to change, to have power, and to act. Being an American is having the freedom of speech. As an American you feel that you have better opportunities and feeling that everyone including you have natural rights. For some, being an American means being born in the U.S. The American life is what most of the world strikes for. Being American is what makes America, America. Being American is obeying the ;aw but at the same time, changing it.

The artifact that we made was for chapter 22 and we made pathways for both perspectives of the children and adults. We made the pathway of the adult dark and with a question mark because in this chapter, the adults are the ones who don't know where they're going. On the other hand, for the children's perspective we tried to put lots of color to it to represent they're imagination and how they know what they want or where they're headed to.

- Perceiving is when thinking is used with our brains. Just like Descartes said, the 6 senses used to from our brains make us or help us feel love, sadness, wonder, hatred, joy, and desire.
-Perception is based on how people view things. For example, if you ask a kindergartener to draw a tree they would most likely draw a stick with  scribbles representing the leaves and why is that when you ask older kids they draw what looks like a broccoli. This is because of the adult vote and the way people view things.

Blog Post #4 : What does "I think, therefore I am" by Descartes mean now?

In my opinion, I think that the quote "I think, therefore I am" by Descartes mean now that I you are able to think, then it is certain that you are alive. It is also an irrefutable truth that he is alive since Descartes spent most of his time just thinking. Descartes also thought that you don't need a body to think because that's what you'll use your brain for. Leading up to the topic that this quote is about knowing that you are alive.
